Statement
My work is a mirror. However, it does not reflect light and show an imaginary image. In order to visualize the boundaries, I cut the boundaries of each of them and use the opposite events as a point of representation. In fact, I have scanned myself in 3D and machine-copied the shape of the doll and cut it in half with my own hands. I add my own expression to the cut surface and it changes from a mere doll to a self-portrait. This cut surface becomes a boundary that conceptually divides me personally into inside and outside. This boundary is not completed by me personally, but involves the viewer. Have you ever found yourself in another person at a certain moment? Or have you ever felt an aspect of yourself that is like a stranger? I create my work in such a way that people can feel this aspect of me through my work. With this in mind, I move away from my own personal form in the 3D scan and use various motifs and methods to create conceptual boundaries.
私の作品は鏡である。しかし、光を反射させ虚像を見せるものではない。それは、境界を可視化するため、それぞれの抱える境界を切ったり、対極の事象を表現に用いたりして起点を作る。実際には私自身を３Dスキャンし、機械によって形を完全にコピーした人形を私自身の手によって半分に切断する。切断面に私の表現が加わり、ただの人形から自刻像に変化する。この切断面は私個人を概念的に内と外に分断する境界面になる。その境界は私個人で完結することなく、見る側を巻き込んでいく。「ある瞬間、他人の中に自分を見つけたことはないだろうか。もしくは、自分の中に他人のような一面を感じたことはないだろうか。」このような感覚から作品を通して感じてもらえるよう制作する。そのことを念頭に置いた時、３Dスキャンでの私個人の形態から離れ、様々なものをモチーフや方法で概念的境界面をつくっていく。
